Mickey Gall Returns vs. George Sullivan At UFC Fight Night Lincoln
UFC welterweight Mickey Gall is slated to return to action Aug. 26 at UFC Fight night 135 in Lincoln. Details here.
Mickey Gall is back.
From his burst onto the national scene on Dana White: Lookin For A Fight to his latest decision loss to Randy Brown at UFC 217, Gall's career has received plenty of attention. Now, after nine months away from competition, the 26-year-old fighter has a chance to redeem his first career loss this August, per a report from the Lincoln Star Journal.
According to the report, Gall (4-1, 3-1 UFC) is set to take on fellow New Jerseyan George Sullivan (17-6, one no-contest, 3-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 135: Lincoln Aug. 25 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Both fighters will look to rebound from losses.
After defeating Mike Jackson in the unofficial CM Punk sweepstakes, Gall took out the former pro wrestler inside one round at UFC 203, earning Gall plenty of notoriety in the process.
Since that time, Gall has split his UFC appearances, defeating the highly touted Sage Northcutt before losing the aforementioned bout against Brown this past November.
His next opponent, Sullivan, has dropped three out of his last four bouts. A loss to Gall would almost surely result in Sullivan being placed on the proverbial chopping block.
The 37-year-old Sullivan split his six UFC appearances thus far, defeating Mike Rhodes, Igor Araujo, and Dominic Waters, while losing to Alexander Yakovlev, Tim Means, and Niko Price.
UFC Fight Night 135: Lincoln is currently headlined by lightweight sluggers Justin Gaethje and James Vick. The card will air live and free on Fox Sports 1.
