UFC Pittsburgh Results: Mike Perry Scores Ferocious Knockout
Mike Perry scores a vicious first-round knockout at UFC Fight Night 116 in Pittsburgh.
Mike Perry is a bad dude.
The one they call "Platinum" was originally slated to face Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 116 in Pittsburgh Saturday, Sept. 16, but Hurricane Irma forced Alves out of the bout at the last minute.
Enter Alex Reyes, the 13-2 lightweight from California who seized the moment, moving up to welterweight to face the knockout artist Perry in the Steel City on three days' notice.
While Reyes entered the bout off 13 straight victories, the night was not his, as Perry pressured him early and uncorked bombs. Reyes briefly looked to clinch and settle the action, but that only made matters worse, as he landed a vicious knee that put Reyes flat on his back.
One hammerfist followed, and that was that. Another Perry fight, another knockout.
With the win, Perry is 4-1 in his UFC career, winning all four via knockout.
