Rory MacDonald Believes Robbie Lawler Was On PEDs During Historic Bout
Former UFC title challenger turned Bellator star Rory MacDonald issues strong words for Robbie Lawler.
Rory MacDonald has never been one to hold back anything inside the cage, and his epic rematch against Robbie Lawler at UFC 189 is standing proof of just how far the man will push himself.
After losing a hard-fought split decision to the "Ruthless" one in 2013, the talented young Canadian MacDonald once again stood across the Octagon from the notorious slugger in Las Vegas in July 2015. The biggest difference between the two fights came with the UFC welterweight title hanging in the balance, and both MacDonald and Lawler proceeded to give everything they had inside the cage.
Heading into the fifth and final round, both men's faces were torn to shreds, but MacDonald's badly broken nose wouldn't hold up to much more. Lawler folded the Tristar fighter with a shot on the button and earned a TKO victory in what went down as an instant classic in the fight community.
And while the memory remains but the fighters themselves have moved on to other big fights, MacDonald has his own theory of why Lawler was able to find victory in the rematch. During an AMA on Reddit/MMA on Thursday, MacDonald answered a fan's question about Lawler in very direct fashion.
