Saul Rogers Set to Face Pat Healy at ACB 54
ACB 54 will feature an action-packed tilt between Saul Rogers and veteran Pat Healy.
ACB 54: Supersonic is heading to the Manchester Arena in England, Mar. 11 and the card is quickly filling up with local talent.
Sources close to FloCombat have revealed a fight between former TUF 22 contestant Saul Rogers (12-1) and UFC veteran Pat Healy (30-23) is currently in the works.
Rogers, 27, will walk into the cage having not lost since 2012 and off the back of six straight victories (not including his three in the TUF house). Rogers was expected to fight Artem Lobov in the final of the TUF 22 lightweight competition, however, visa issues meant he was pulled from the fight and since he has had to fight outside of the organization. Rogers made his ACB debut last October at ACB 52 when he defeated Michael Adalena in the co-main event of the evening by first round submission.
Rogers will look to rack up his seventh win in a row in March, but do that he must take on a man with more experience than anyone he's ever met inside the cage before.
Healy, 33, made his first appearance under the ACB banner in January when he fought on the promotion's first ever event in America. That evening, Healy lost in controversial circumstances when the referee missed a blatant eye poke from his opponent Leandro Silva. The Brazilian capitalized on Healy's visual impairment and went on to win by TKO in just 38 seconds amidst a lot of confusion and a very unhappy crowd in Irvine, California.
Healy will get the opportunity to make amends in his second ACB outing, but if he's to get back to winning ways he must overcome Rogers who many consider one of the best lightweights in the world currently not plying his trade in the UFC.
ACB 54 Fightcard:
Luke Barnatt vs Mamed Khalidov
Brendan Loughnane vs Mike Wilkinson
Dean Garnett vs Michael Tobin
Vinny Magalhaes vs Przemyslaw Mysiala
Thomas vs Eddie Newton
Kane Mousah v Lewis Monarch
