Following Mickey Gall's win over CM Punk this past weekend at UFC 203, the talk of the town was his call out of 'Super' Sage Northcutt. Gall set his sights on the highly touted prospect and publicly voice his intention to face Northcutt inside the Octagon.
Soon after the call out was made, UFC president Dana White said the Northcutt camp had contacted him immediately to accept the bout.
"Well, when he called him out, Sage's people texted me immediately and they want the fight," said White during a post-event interview for UFC on FOX. "So we'll see if that fight happens."
Before anyone gets too excited though, a report today by British journalist, Jonathan Shrager, has somewhat dampened the fuel on the fire.
Shrager spoke to Northcutt's father Mark, who informed him that no one from the UFC had called them about the Gall fight. He continued to explain Sage was currently recovering from another staph infection and would be seeing a doctor later this week.

While falling short of ruling out the possibility of the fight altogether, it appears for the minute fans will have to wait while if they are to see Mickey Gall versus Sage Northcutt.
