It's fair to say Conor McGregor got something off his chest at the UFC 202 open workouts today.
Speaking just 48-hours ahead of his rematch with Nate Diaz, McGregor made his feelings about the Diaz brothers and their supporters very clear and left nothing to the imagination.
"Fuck the Diaz brothers, fuck those cockroaches," McGregor yelled down the microphone after finishing a short workout.
Just 24 hours earlier, both the McGregor and Diaz entourages were involved in a chaotic bottle throwing incident that brought an abrupt end to the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference.
McGregor addressed the altercation again today and provided a very tongue in cheek perspective of what happened.
"Like I said, I was in fear [for] my life yesterday," McGregor said. "Bottles were coming flying. I was ducking. It was just self-defense on my part. I don't know. I was afraid for my life."
Although McGregor might be making light of the situation, UFC President Dana White is taking the incident deadly seriously.
White confirmed earlier on today to TMZ that both camps were banned from tomorrow's weigh-ins and that both McGregor and Diaz would likely face charges after the fight on Saturday night.
"They're both getting punished," White said. What everybody's gotta understand is we're overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. I guarantee both of these guys will get massive fines. And there's probably gonna be a hearing too after the fight."
While McGregor and Diaz may be summoned in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission in the coming weeks, in their more immediate future, the UFC 202 weigh-ins take place tomorrow at the MGM Grand where the two will meet eye-to-eye one last time before UFC 202 Saturday night.
