Georges St-Pierre wants Tyron Woodley, Woodley Accepts
Georges St-Pierre wants to fight newly crowned UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley--and Woodley is game.
Tyron Woodley only recently defeated Robbie Lawler for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 201, but the champion has verbally accepted his next challenge--the legendary Georges St-Pierre.
Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting reported that St-Pierre was interested in returning to face Woodley, saying he had exchanged a series of text messages with the former champion, who replied "yes" when asked whether he would be interested to take the fight and also "yes" when asked whether he actually wanted the fight.
Just hours later, Woodley responded himself via Twitter.

This all comes just a day after Woodley intimated in the UFC 201 post-fight press conference that he was gunning for a fight with Nick Diaz at UFC 202. Woodley since readjusted his sights, now setting them on St-Pierre and Madison Square Garden for Nov. 12's UFC 205 fight card.
Just last month, St-Pierre confirmed to Helwani on the MMA Hour that he would be returning to action soon and that his team planned to begin talks with the UFC to sort out a deal.
"I put myself in a training camp and I sparred and everything, and I did it successfully," St-Pierre told Helwani. "Now I know for a fact that I could go back and fight if my management and the UFC to get to an agreement."
"I still feel I'm at my best right now and the clock is running. I'm not getting any younger. I'm in the peak of my career, and if there is another shot, another go, another run, I better do it and do it quick."
Should St-Pierre come out of semi-retirement, it will be his first fight back since vacating his title in December of 2013. His last fight inside the Octagon was at UFC 167, where he defeated Johny Hendricks via split decision to retain his UFC welterweight title.
