FloCombat Prospect Rankings - March 2018

FloCombat Prospect Rankings - Middleweight - March 2018

FloCombat ranks the top 20 North American middleweight MMA prospects for March 2018.

Rankings based off the following....

  • North American fighters only. For example, Thiago Moises wouldn't qualify for these rankings despite training in the U.S.
  • No fighters that have fought for or who are set to fight for the UFC.
  • Fighters competing on Dana White's Contender Series included.
  • No long-term Bellator fighters or champions. Exceptions for some preliminary fighters.
  • All fighters aged 30 and under.
  • Rankings based off age, record, and level of competition.

March Notes:

  • Jordan Wright enters the top five of the rankings.
  • TKO MMA middleweight champion Marc-Andre Barriault enters in the No. 7 spot. He was mistakenly put in the light heavyweight rankings last month.

#1 — Anthony Hernandez (6-0)

Hernandez captured the vacant LFA middleweight title by defeating former No. 1-ranked Brendan Allen by unanimous decision at LFA 32 on Jan. 26. The 23-year-old Hernandez went the distance for the first time in that fight and is likely on the verge of a UFC contract.

#2 — Brendan Allen (8-3)

Allen came up short in his second bid for the LFA middleweight title after losing to Hernandez at LFA 32. Still, the 22-year-old Roufusport product is one of the youngest fighters on this list, and two of his three career losses are to UFC fighters Eryk Anders and Trevin Giles.

#3 — Ian Heinisch (8-1)

Heinisch bounced back from his first career loss by knocking out Daniel Madrid in the second round at LFA 31. The Factory X standout has won four of his eight career fights by stoppage.

#4 — Kevin Holland (11-3)

Holland is now won seven of his last eight fights and has finished all of his opponents during that span. The 25-year-old makes his Bellator debut on March 2 against Tegan Dooley.

#5 — Jordan Wright (9-0)

Jackson/Winklejohn standout Wright enters the top five as the only fighter on this list with an undefeated record. The 26-year-old fighter is coming off a first-round submission victory over Craig Wilkerson at LFA 30 in January.
