Cage Titans took over Kingston, Massachusetts, Saturday, June 30, with Cage Titans 39. Here's what went down.
In the night's main event, top New England lightweight prospects Connor Barry and Peter Barrett threw down.
While Barrett nearly connected early with a spinning elbow, it was Barry who took over once the two went crashing to the mat.
Using his slick rubber guard, Barry transitioned from a triangle to an armbar, hyperextending Barrett's elbow and forcing the verbal submission in Round 1.
The win marks the second straight submission under the Cage Titans banner for Barry and improves his record to 5-2.
Just before those two took center stage, local favorite Zach DiSabatino continued to roll. Undefeated throughout his professional and amateur career, DiSabatino did what he does: He finished his opponent in short order.
Taking on Jay Ellis, DiSabatino hit a beautiful sweep in Round 1 and proceeded to drop elbows before transitioning to the back to secure the fight-ending rear-naked choke.
Now 4-0 as a pro with four finishes, all eyes are on DiSabatino as he continues his ascent toward the big leagues.
Also on the card, Lauzon MMA product Randy Costa made his pro debut in style, earning a quick TKO finish over Stacey Anderson. Costa hadn't fought since 2014, but he showed zero signs of rust, swarming his opponent with heavy uppercuts and punches and forcing the referee's hand. With Anderson failing to fight back, the deed was done, and the crowd went wild for the clear fan favorite Costa.
