Jacob Kilburn stuns regional scene with stoppage victory over Edward Massey.
Edward Massey has built steam as one of the best up-and-coming prospects in the Southeast region, and the highly touted prospect was aiming to make a big statement at Valor Fights 46.
Jacob Kilburn had other ideas.
While Massey was the heavy favorite coming into the bout, Kilburn didn't have an ounce of backdown in him when the action got underway in Nashville. Massey controlled the action early and moved within striking distance of victory on several occasions with seemingly tight submission attempts. Nevertheless, Kilburn hung tough and refused to relent.
And it paid off.
During an exchange in the third round, Kilburn caught Massey with a big shot and dropped him to the canvas. Kilburn threw his hands up in celebration and the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
With the win, Kilburn secured the biggest victory of his career and an impressive comeback in the process.
