Tuesday, Brian Kelleher was forced to pull out of his UFC Ottawa bout against Mitch Gagnon, FloCombat has learned.
Brian Kelleher will have to wait a little longer to return to the UFC Octagon. Tuesday, the 32-year-old bantamweight was forced to pull out of his UFC Fight Night 150 bout in Ottawa against Mitch Gagnon, FloCombat has learned.
According to sources, a minor injury forced Kelleher off the card with Gagnon.
The UFC is actively searching to find a replacement fighter to face the Canadian.
Kelleher was looking to rebound from a loss suffered at the hands of Montel Jackson late last year at UFC 232 in Las Vegas.
Prior to the Jackson fight, Kelleher stepped in on short notice to fight John Lineker at UFC 224. Despite a valiant effort by Kelleher, Lineker finished the New Yorker in Round 3.
Only having competed once since 2014, Canada's Gagnon is coming off of back-to-back losses. Now 34 years old, Gagnon's next bout will be a pivotal one -- if the UFC can find him an opponent, that is.
