Gerald Meerschaert vs. Kevin Holland Targeted For UFC On ESPN 2
A middleweight showdown between Gerald Meerschaert and Kevin Holland is in the works for UFC on ESPN 2 in Philadelphia.
UFC on ESPN 2: Philadelphia is just over two weeks away, but the lineup isn’t set just yet.
Within the past 48 hours, a middleweight bout between Kevin Holland and Gerald Meerschaert has formulated for the March 30 event, sources tell FloCombat.
Last month, the always flashy Kevin Holland made it clear he wanted on the UFC Philadelphia card. Though he’s not from Philadelphia, Holland has deep family roots to the city. Always looking for a fight, Holland was a no-brainer to add to this card.
In his last outing, Texas’s Holland picked up his first UFC victory, defeating Conor McGregor protege John Phillips via third-round rear-naked choke.
His opponent is a tough one. Roufusport finisher Gerald Meerschaert touts a 4-2 record thus far in his promotional tenure and has not seen the judges’ scorecards in any of his six UFC appearances. In his last bout, the submission specialist was beaten at his own game, as he was choked out by Norway’s Jack Hermansson in Round 1.
