Cris Lencioni vs. Adil Benjilany Set For Bellator 221
Featherweight prospects Adil Benjilany and Cris Lencioni will square off May 11 at Bellator 221 in Chicago, FloCombat has learned.
Bellator MMA’s return to Chicago continues to pile up with notable names.
On the preliminary portion of Bellator 221 May 11 in Chicago, featherweight up-and-comer Adil Benjilany (5-1) will square off with fellow prospect Cris Lencioni (4-2), FloCombat learned Thursday.
Highly regarded as one of the best 145-pound prospects in the United States, the adopted Chicagoan Benjilany will once again fight in his new backyard.
At Bellator 198, Bejilany made his Bellator MMA debut against undefeated Corey Jackson. A dominant three-round affair earned Benjilany his first promotional win.
In his last outing at Bellator 210, Benjilany knocked out opponent Daniel Carey in spectacular fashion. The Morocco-born fighter will look to make it three-for-three against Lencioni.
A teammate of “The American Gangster” Chael Sonnen, Lencioni has accumulated a 1-2 record in his first three Bellator outings. After defeating Thomas Lopez in his promotional debut, Lencioni has dropped back-to-back fights against Daniel Carey and Tywan Claxton.
