Gillian Robertson vs. Veronica Macedo In The Works For UFC Prague
The UFC is targeting a women's flyweight bout between Gillian Robertson and Veronica Macedo for its UFC Fight Night 145 card in Prague.
The UFC is aiming to add another women’s flyweight bout to their debut event in the Czech Republic.
The promotion is targeting a scrap between young up-and-comers Gillian Robertson and Veronica Macedo for the Feb. 23 UFC on ESPN+ 3 card in Prague, sources tell FloCombat.
After being eliminated by Barb Honchak on Season 26 of The Ultimate Fighter, Robertson won back-to-back bouts to kick off her promotional tenure. In her UFC debut, Robertson submitted fellow cast member Emily Whitmire.
In her sophomore appearance, Robertson spoiled the homecoming UFC debut for Cage Warriors staple Molly McCann, submitting “Meatball” in the second round at UFC Liverpool.
Although she dropped her most recent outing against surging Brazilian Myra Bueno Silva at UFC São Paulo, Robertson is still deemed by many to be a prospect to watch in 2019.
Her opponent, Venezuela’s Macedo has had a tough go in her UFC career thus far. The 23-year-old flyweight has lost both of her outings in the UFC to date. After being finished by elbows in her UFC debut against Ashlee-Evans Smith, Macedo dropped a unanimous decision loss to Andrea Lee at UFC Santiago.
