Said Nurmagomedov vs. Ricardo Ramos Targeted For UFC On ESPN+ 2
A bantamweight bout between Said Nurmagomedov and Ricardo Ramos is expected to take place Feb. 2 at UFC on ESPN+ 2 in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The UFC is slated to return to Brazil Feb. 2 with UFC on ESPN+ 2, featuring a major bantamweight headliner between surging contenders Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes.
But that pair of Brazilian bantamweights won’t represent the only 135-pounders to throw down on the card.
According to multiple reports out of Russia, including an Instagram post from one of the pertinent parties, Russia’s Said Nurmagomedov will clash with Ricardo Ramos at the event.
Highly touted entering his debut, Nurmagomedov edged out a controversial decision in his first UFC bout. According to the three cageside judges in Boise, the 26-year-old fighter did enough to edge Justin Scoggins by split decision—leaving many fans at home scratching their heads.
With the UFC’s flyweight division approaching an impending demise, Nurmagomedov will make the jump to 135 pounds.
Recently scheduled to fight Ricky Simon at UFC Denver, Ramos was forced to withdraw from his toughest test to date due to an undisclosed injury.
Undefeated in his three-fight tenure with the UFC, the Dana White: Lookin’ For a Fight veteran has earned wins over Michinori Tanaka, Aiemann Zahabi, and Kyung Ho Kang.
