Eric Shelton vs. Joseph Morales Targeted For UFC Fight Night 139: Denver
A matchup between flyweights Eric Shelton and Joseph Morales is in the works for Nov. 10's UFC Fight Night 139 fight card in Denver.
UFC Fight Night 139: Denver is just a few weeks away, but the promotion isn’t done crafting the card. According to sources close to the situation, flyweights Eric Shelton and Joseph Morales will meet in the Mile High City.
Thus far in the UFC, Oklahoma’s Shelton has struggled in terms of wins and losses, going 1-3. With that said, the 27-year-old fighter has faced stiff competition, defeating Jenel Lausa while coming up short against Alexandre Pantoja, Jarred Brooks, and Alex Perez.
His opponent, Team Alpha Male’s Morales, will look to rebound from his first career loss this past February. Prior to the loss against Deiveson Figueiredo in Brazil, Morales knocked out Roberto Sanchez in his UFC debut last year.
The Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight signee is just 24 years of age—a win over Shelton would reestablish him as a top prospect to watch at 125 pounds.
UFC Fight Night 139 takes place Nov. 10 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. The main card is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1 and is currently headlined by former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar vs. former featherweight title challenger Chan Sung Jung in a 145-pound showdown.
