New York City’s UFC 230 still doesn’t have an official main event, but the rest of the card is filling up nicely.

Sticking with the theme of exciting fights, FloCombat has learned a featherweight bout between Shane Burgos (10-1, 3-1 UFC) and Kurt Holobaugh (17-5 1NC, 0-2 UFC) is set for the UFC’s Nov. 3 return to Madison Square Garden.

Newsday reported the matchup Thursday morning.

Fan favorites for their frenetic pacing and finishing abilities, Burgos and Holobaugh are no strangers to putting on “Fight of the Night” worthy performances. In fact, both featherweights are coming off bonus-winning outings.

Earlier this year at UFC 220, Burgos suffered his first professional loss to Calvin Kattar. The fight was a back-and-forth affair, with Kattar ultimately dropping and finishing Burgos midway through the third round.

Prior to his loss to Kattar, Burgos defeated Tiago Trator, Godofredo Pepey, and Charles Rosa to kick off his promotional tenure. The Tiger Schulmann’s product will look to get back in the win column against one of Louisiana’s finest.

A veteran of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Holobaugh dropped his UFC return fight to Raoni Barcelos earlier this summer at UFC Boise. The loss came off Holobaugh’s eight-month suspension for use of an IV for his fight against Matt Bessette last summer.
