UFC Veteran Phil De Fries Signs Four-Fight Deal With KSW
Five-fight UFC veteran Phil De Fries signs a four-fight deal with Polish MMA promotion KSW.
Former UFC heavyweight Phil De Fries (14-6) recently signed a four-fight deal with KSW.
De Fries is currently ranked No. 2 on Tapology's United Kingdom/Ireland heavyweight rankings.
While many fight fans will recognize De Fries from his relatively unsuccessful UFC stint, in which he went 2-3, the 31-year-old fighter is still going strong, coming off back-to-back victories.
In October, he defeated Anton Vyazigin via majority decision at M-1 Challenge 84, then he followed that up with a first-round submission of James Thompson in December at Bellator 191.
Now, he turns his attention to KSW, Poland's leading MMA promotion.
“It's great to sign with KSW. I’ve fought all over the world and KSW is one of the biggest stages around," De Fries said in a press release. "I’m the best I’ve ever been in my career right now, my training is going great, and I can’t wait to show people the best Phil De Fries yet.
"I’m coming into KSW to prove something and I am coming for that heavyweight title!"
De Fries marks an exciting addition to KSW's heavyweight division, which boasts the likes of Michal Andryszak (20-6), Mariusz Pudzianowski (12-5), Karol Bedorf (14-3), and more.
"Phil is a great addition to KSW. He has fought all over the world against some of the best around," KSW co-owner Martin Lewandowski said. "He is in his prime, he is big, he has experience and he has such a dangerous submission game. Phil De Fries is a threat to everyone in the KSW heavyweight division. I can't wait to see him debut."
