UFC welterweight Colby Covington has been campaigning for a title shot for months.

In his latest attempt to get the UFC’s attention, Covington (13-1) went on a rant during an Instagram Live session this week about his desire to fight current 170-pound champion Tyron Woodley, a former training partner at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, FL.

“You can’t stop me,” Covington said. “Tyron Woodley is next. I’m getting that belt and it’s mine. He’s just keeping it warm for me. I’m going to KO Woodley. He’s going to be so tired he won’t be able to breathe. He will quit.”

Woodley (18-3-1) is hoping to fight at UFC 219 on Dec. 30, though an opponent has not been named. Woodley has said, however, that he wants to build his legacy.

That leads many to believe the champion is interested in a fight with a big name — perhaps middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre or fan favorite Nate Diaz.

But according to Covington, Woodley is just ducking him.

“For real, though. Tyron is a gossip girl, man. He’s out kissing ass. I’m over here kicking ass,” Covington said. “I’m next in line. We’ve got the same resume. I beat the last guy he fought and I beat him 10 times worse. He can’t run from me anymore.

"He’s making excuses, but at the end of the day he doesn’t want to tell the world the real reason he doesn’t want to fight me: because I used to whoop his ass in the gym and I’ll do it again under those bright lights of the UFC and he knows it.”

An announcement for UFC 219 could come in the next few days, according to Woodley.

If Woodley's opponent is not Covington, who is ranked No. 3 in the welterweight division, the brash Oregon native will be waiting for his eventual shot.

“I earned my shot to fight Woodley,” Covington added. “I’ve beat[en] the guys he’s beat[en], but he’s acting all entitled, acting like a diva. When I’m the champion of the UFC, I’ll fight whoever the UFC wants me to fight or whoever the fans want me to fight, because I’m a real fighter… I don’t turn down fights.

"I know I’m the best in the world. Woodley is just trying to delay the inevitable. We’re going to fight and I’m going to get my belt.”
