Dana White: UFC 217 Sold Over 1 Million PPVs, Broke Canadian Record
UFC President Dana White makes a lofty claim for UFC 217's pay-per-view sales.
UFC 217 crowned three new champions, immediately going down as one of the greatest pay-per-view cards in the promotion's history.
But the magnitude of the event might be even bigger at the box office.
According to UFC President Dana White, the card sold "well over" 1 million pay-per-views, breaking the Canadian record previously held by Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor.
TSN's Aaron Bronsteter got the scoop shortly after the event.
Dana White says that #UFC217 did well over a million buys and that it broke the Canadian pay-per-view record held by Conor/Floyd

Other notable 1 million-plus-buy pay-per-view cards are UFC 205 and UFC 100, reported around 1.3 million and 1.6 million buys, respectively.
UFC 205 featured a lightweight title fight between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor in the main event -- a showcase in which McGregor became the first UFC champion to wield two titles simultaneously. It was also the promotion's debut in Madison Square Garden, adding a little extra heat.
UFC 100, meanwhile, featured two title fights at the top. Brock Lesnar defeated Frank Mir in a heavyweight title fight, while Georges St-Pierre defended his welterweight title against Thiago Alves.
St-Pierre made his much-anticipated return at UFC 217, defeating Michael Bisping via third-round submission and winning the middleweight title. It was his first fight after four years away from the sport.
Also at the event, Rose Namajunas scored a shocking first-round knockout over Joanna Jedrzejczyk and TJ Dillashaw upset Cody Garbrandt via second-round TKO.
Needless to say, the result was money.
