Dana White: Winner Of Robbie Lawler Vs. Rafael Dos Anjos Gets Title Shot
UFC President Dana White declares winner of Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael Dos Anjos will fight Tyron Woodley for title.
The UFC welterweight title picture is starting to shape up once again.
With champion Tyron Woodley notching back-to-back victories, his place atop the division is moving toward a dominant reign. That said, in order for a division to be firing on all cylinders a clear path to the title has to exist. The welterweight fold has plenty of potential contenders jockeying for position at the current time, but UFC president Dana White has just given the nod to a pair of former champions set to collide in December.
During a press conference for UFC 217 on Friday, the UFC front man announced that the matchup between Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos will determine who gets the next opportunity to face Woodley for the strap. The two hard-charging fighters are set to clash in the main event at UFC on Fox 26 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The former 170-pound champion is coming off a barn burner victory over Donald Cerrone at UFC 214 back in July, his first showing since being dethroned by Woodley a year earlier at UFC 201. Dos Anjos has earned back-to-back wins since jumping up into the welterweight division after a rough skid and rigorous weight cuts forced him out of the lightweight division he once championed.
