Junior Dos Santos Flagged By USADA, UFC Seeking Replacement For Ngannou
UFC heavyweight Junior dos Santos has been flagged by USADA and is out of his UFC 215 matchup against Francis Ngannou.
UFC heavyweight Junior dos Santos has become the latest fighter to be flagged by USADA for a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation.
According to a statement from the UFC on Friday, an out-of-competition sample collected Aug. 10, 2017, caused the violation.
The 33-year-old was scheduled to face Francis Ngannou on Sept. 9 at UFC 215, but dos Santos has been pulled from the bout in light of this recent news.
However, the fight, which would almost surely crown the next heavyweight title contender, is not totally scrapped. The UFC is currently searching for a replacement opponent for Ngannou.
This marks the first such violation for the former UFC heavyweight champion dos Santos.
