While round one of the May-Mac world tour went to Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor came storming back Wednesday, notching a shutout victory in the latest stop in Toronto to promote their August 26 fight.
The press conference started about an hour late due to Mayweather being stuck in traffic, but once the fighters hit the stage, the action soon followed.
McGregor was once again introduced by UFC President Dana White, and from there the Irishman wasted no time in addressing his faulty microphone that kept him from firing back at Mayweather during their first interaction Tuesday.
"Does this mic work? Well then f*ck that mic!" McGregor shouted. "On the count of three, I want everyone in this arena to scream at the top of your lungs, 'F*ck the Mayweathers!'"
McGregor even addressed Showtime Boxing General Manager Stephen Espinoza, who put out a press release earlier in the day Wednesday saying that the company did not intentionally cut the UFC champion's microphone while he was on stage with Mayweather.
"While we're at it, f*ck Showtime, too! You little weasel. Look at you, you little f*cking weasel," McGregor said while directly in Espinoza's face. "I can see it in your eyes. You're a f*cking b*itch. Cut my mic off? Cut the champ-champ's mic off? Hell no."
The raucous crowd in Toronto was decidedly on McGregor's side. He was cheered loudly throughout the press conference, while Mayweather was routinely showered in boos.
McGregor's verbal assault did not slow down as he paced across the stage, getting close to Mayweather on several occasions. The 49-0 boxing legend, meanwhile, sat silently while sipping on some coffee.
"Twenty-eight years of age, [and] I'm getting fight checks and promoter checks. When Floyd was 28, he was on Oscar De La Hoya's undercard and that's just facts," McGregor said.
"Shout out to all the stripper b*tches on his payroll. At least Rob Kardashian only had one. He has 50."
Perhaps the most vicious shot fired by McGregor during his barrage came when he turned his attention to the backpack the 40-year old boxer brought on stage during Tuesday's event. Mayweather brought the bag to show off a $100 million check that hadn't been cashed in an effort to refute claims that he's having trouble paying his taxes.
"Carrying a school bag on stage... What are you doing with a school bag on stage? You can't even read!" McGregor said.
As the crowd chanted in unison "pay your taxes," Mayweather finally got his turn on the microphone, as he responded to some of the barbs launched at him by McGregor.
"They said I'm the motherf*cker who can't read. B*tch, I do numbers. I make money," Mayweather said. "You know my middle name b*tch."
Much like his speech on Tuesday, Mayweather eventually landed on McGregor's 2016 loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196, where McGregor was submitted in the second round.
"Ya'll got the f*cking nerve to believe in a f*cking fighter that likes to f*cking quit? This is a f*cking quitter," Mayweather said. "I don't quit. I don't fold under pressure. I'm the best and I know I'm the best. B*tch, you know I'm the best."
Toward the end of the press conference, Mayweather reached down into the crowd and retrieved an Irish flag from the droves of fans who showed up to support McGregor.
Mayweather draped himself in the flag, which earned him a rather ominous warning from McGregor, who was sitting just a few feet away.
"You do something with that flag -- I'll f*ck you up," McGregor said.
Ultimately, Mayweather actually handed the flag over to McGregor, who then tossed it back at him. The press conference then came to a close with the two fighters facing off another time.
This was just the second stop on the four-city world tour with Mayweather and McGregor. They now will take a short trip for another meeting Thursday, where they will go face-to-face again at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
