Love it or hate it, but the mega-fight between UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and all-time great boxer Floyd Mayweather seems to edge closer each week.
This week, McGregor applied to the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a boxing license.

According to Marrocco, the application must include photos and basic biological information, as well as a $50 fee. He’ll also need to submit an ophthalmologic brain scan and blood tests; similar to what any MMA fighter would have to do before a mixed martial arts bout in Nevada.
The news comes on the heels of UFC President Dana White announcing that McGregor’s end of the deal for the bout has been finalized and that negotiations had begun with Floyd Mayweather’s “The Money Team”, and while that may make it seem as though the deal is halfway done, there’s no telling what hiccups could occur with Mayweather.
The potential Mayweather versus McGregor bout promises to be one of the most profitable in combat sports history and is expected to attract fans from both the boxing and mixed martial arts fanbases.
