Joanna Jedrzejczyk defeated Jessica Andrade via decision at UFC 211.
By Shawn W. Smith
It was a battle of pressure versus precision at UFC 211 when Joanna Jedrzejczyk battled Jessica Andrade, and in the end, precision won.
The UFC strawweight champion Jedrzejczyk put on another impressive performance, using her accuracy and timing to outpoint the come-forward stylings of Andrade. The bout served as a co-main event at UFC 211, which took place at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas, Texas.
If Andrade was the proverbial bull, Jedrzejczyk was most certainly a matador.

The champion stayed on her back foot throughout much of the fight, allowing Andrade to come forward. Joanna “Champion” picked Andrade apart as she moved forward, landing most of the significant blows.
As the fight wore on, it was clear who was doing the more significant damage. While Andrade did her best to raise the tempo, the always relaxed Jedrzejczyk picked her shots and focused on landing with the laser-beam accuracy she’s become known for. Andrade began to throw wide, looping punches as the fight reached its final stages, but it did little to help the situation.
In the end, judges scored the bout 50-45, 50-44, 50-45 in favor of Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
The bout marks Jedrzejczyk’s fifth world title defense since capturing the title from Carla Esparza in March of 2015. The streak is second among active UFC world champions.
