Dylan Cala Claims Gold, Prospects Shine Bright
Super prospect Dylan Cala picked up the victory and championship gold at Valor Fights 41.
It was a night for top prospects to rise and fall at Valor Fights 41.
Of the collective, no fighter had more at stake than highly touted phenom Dylan Cala. "The Future" expects his invite from the UFC to come in the near future, and it would take a victory over Chris Wright in the main event on Saturday night to get that done.
And despite some rough waters in the early goings, Cala handled the veteran fighter in strong fashion en route to picking up the next round. It was anyone's fight to take going into the final frame and it was all Cala in the third as he picked up the unanimous decision victory and became the new Valor Fights bantamweight champion in the process.
The North Carolina representative backs up the hype each and every time out, and it won't be long until he's competing under the bright lights of the sport's biggest stage.
Another touted young talent coming up in the Valor ranks put on a show as Nick Gehrts put away Latral Perdue in the first round of their tilt. Gehrts wasted no time closing the distance on his opponent, then locked in a rarely seen calf slicer to bring an abrupt end to the bout.
