It was an incredible evening of fights as KSW 37 delivered and then some.

The 18,000-strong crowd filled the Tauron arena in Krakow, Poland to capacity, and they witnessed a magnificent night of fights.

Submissions, knockouts, title fights, title changes and talking points. Not a soul left the Tauron Arena last evening without feeling they got their money’s worth.
 

Fernando Rodrigues Jr def. Karol Bedorf via TKO (punches), 2:34, round 2

In the main event, the KSW heavyweight title was on the line as champion Karol Bedorf faced Fernando Rodrigues Jr at bruising, heavy hitting battle of the big men.
After a brutal first round where both men worked the head and body well with some huge blows, the end came in the second round and the crowd were silenced
Rodrigues dropped Bedorf to the mat with a big right and the Pole looked to cover up.

The Brazilian put the ground and pound in thick and fast as referee Marc Goddard watched each of his shots carefully warning about hitting to the back of the head.
After a good number of unanswered strikes Goddard stepped in to call the fight to an end.

Fernando Rodrigues Jr is the new KSW heavyweight champion.
 

M. Pudzianowski  def. Popek Monster via TKO (punches), 1:20, round 1

In the co-main event, Polish rap sensation Pawel Rak aka. ‘Popek Monster’, faced 5-time World's Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski in heavyweight action.
The fight was an absolute slugfest. Both went full pelt from the opening bell and to the surprise of no one it was done inside one round.

The finish came when Pudzianowski landed a huge right hand to drop Popek. Pudzianowski then laid in some hefty ground and pound before the referee Lukasz Bosacki wisely dove in to call the fight to an end.

Popek was not happy in the slightest about the stoppage but really he could have no argument.
 

Borys Mańkowski  def. John Maguire via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-25)

The British interest on the card came in the form of John ‘The One’ Maguire who took on the KSW welterweight champion, Borys Mankowski.

Unfortunately for the Brit it wasn’t to be his night as the Pole dominated the bout the entire three rounds. Mankowski controlled the cage from the opening bell and pushed Maguire’s back to the fence where he proceeded to fire in body shot after body shot.

After working the body, the next phase of Mankowski’s place came into action as he took Maguire down to the mat.

From there the Pole smothered him, laying in frequent mini shots of ground and pound and giving Maguire zero opportunity of getting up.

After two dominant rounds, Maguire had to change it up in the third to get the finish. Maguire tried a headkick, but Mankowski blocked it and the Brit fell to the ground.
From there it was academic and the Pole again smothered Maguire until the closing bell.

The fight went the distance but there was only ever going to be one winner—Mankowski took the decision 30-26, 30-26, 30-25.

It was a brave effort by the Brit, but it simply wasn’t his night. Walking away from cageside after the fight, Maguire said: “I felt like I was asleep in there”.
 

Marcin Wrzosek def. Artur Sowiński via TKO (doctor stoppage), 2:55, round 2.

On a night with three title fights, the KSW featherweight belt was on the line first as Artur Sowinksi faced Marcin Wrzosek aka. ‘The Polish Zombie’.

Both came out the gates fast with punches, knees and kicks from all angles from both men.

The pace was relentless throughout the first five minutes, but it took until the opening minute of the second for the fight changing strike to land.

Sowinksi looked to close the distance again, but as he entered the pocket Wrzosek caught him with a big strike to the top of the head dropping him.
Blood poured the head of Sowinski as Wrzosek poured on the ground and pound.

After minutes of struggling and follow up punishment, referee Marc Goddard stopped the fight asking the doctor to check Sowinski’s eye which was fully covered.
After a close inspection it was clear the champion could no longer see out of his eye.

The fight was stopped and Wrzosek was declared the new KSW featherweight champion.

Wrzosek celebrated on the top of the cage with his coach Lukasz Zaborowski and corner team from SHARK Top Team in Lodz, Poland going crazy.
