Kyle Booth topped Jake Keller via third-round submission at Warrior Nation Fight Series 42 in Sandusky, Ohio, on Saturday night.
With the combined experience of 17 fights under their belts, Kyle Booth and Jake Keller made their way into the cage ready for a battle at Warrior Nation Fight Series 42 in Sandusky, Ohio, on Saturday night. While the Ohio natives traded blows through an evenly matched two rounds, Booth provided the breakthrough moment with a third-round submission.
After a touch of the gloves, Keller took the outside, looking to land a jab. Booth responded with a powerful leg kick before ducking under a spinning back fist and following up with a front kick.
After a short feeling-out process, Booth pressed forward with a flurry before being reversed into the fence. Both fighters would eventually separate. After another exchange, Booth once again looked to clinch up, but Keller defended and broke free. With 20 seconds left, Keller finally added some offense as he flung in a handful of right hands to close out the opening frame.
Picking up right where they left off, both men immediately started trading leather in the center of the cage. Utilizing a front side kick, Booth kept his distance as he continued to circle away to the left. After catching his opponent's right leg, Keller dragged the fight to the canvas. However, he could not hold his opponent down as Booth popped right back, scooped up Keller, and slammed him back down. Working from his opponent's full guard, Booth landed a series of of short punches to finish off the second round.
With no clear winner at this point, Booth looked to press his offense early with a flurry but could only connect with air. After dislodging Keller's mouthpiece with a left hook, Booth shot in and secured the takedown against the cage. Working from side control, Booth transitioned to back control before being swept by Keller.
Finding himself working off his back, Booth locked on a tight triangle choke from the bottom. With his opponent reeling, Booth unloaded a barrage of hammerfists from the bottom, forcing his opponent to submit.
