FC Gym Stories: Joe Warren Beats Up Two Karate Teachers in Ohio
Bellator bantamweight Joe Warren is one of the most accomplished amateur wrestlers to ever make the transition to mixed martial arts.

A multiple-time Greco-Roman gold medalist and world champion, the self-proclaimed "Baddest Man on the Planet" is also a multi-division Bellator champion, capturing the organization's bantamweight and featherweight titles during his illustrious MMA career.

After his career on the mats, the world class wrestler teamed up with the legendary wrestling-centric fighters at Team Quest MMA. The Oregon-based gym is home to some of the greatest wrestlers-turned fighters the sport has ever seen, including Randy Couture, Dan Henderson and Matt Lindland to name a few.

In FloCombat's newest installment of gym stories, Warren takes us back to the infancy of his MMA career and shares a story of barnstorming unsuspecting dojos and gyms while traveling around the country looking for a fight.

"The way I started fighting was pretty simple." Warren said. "Dan Henderson and Heath Sims just sent me a bag of gear and said 'While you're out wrestling, swing into the jiu-jitsu gyms or Muay Thai gyms in the area and just fight people.' That's how it all started. We called them gym stomps. I would just walk into a gym and put all my fight gear on and fight guys. We used to call it dojo stomping.

"I was driving through the state of Ohio in a rental car, and I just happened to bring the bag of fight gear with me. I looked up and saw a sign that read 'Jiu Jitsu and Ninjitsu' or something like that. I put all my gear on in the car. I went in and started talking a little crap to these two senseis. I got in a fight with both of them. I beat up on both of them.

"It was really incredible how I got into the fight game."
