Artem Lobov Promises To Butcher Chris Avila At UFC 202
Artem Lobov said the he was going to punish Team Diaz for this bottle throwing antics at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference.
Artem Lobov wasn't present during the bottle throwing craziness at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference on Wednesday, but that that didn't stop the Russian-born Irishman having a strong view on what transpired.
"I just remained calm and professional," Lobov said at the UFC 202 media day yesterday. "There's been a lot of work getting this sport to where it is now and New York has only just approved it now. Incidents like this stop it from doing justice to the rest of the athletes.
"This was out of order for many reasons and we are going to meet on Saturday night and we can settle our differences in there and like professionals."
Lobov was distinctly unimpressed with the behaviour of Team Diaz at the pre-fight press conference and said that their punishment would come this weekend when he put a beating on his Skrap Pack member opponent Chris Avila.
"All of this throwing of bottles shouldn't happen--especially by the guys who were throwing all these gang signs in the air and throwing bottles," Lobov said. "Where are they going to be Saturday night? Chris is going to be in there with me and he has to face me. Those motherf****** are going to be sat in the crowd waving and watching me butcher him.
"He is only a little kid and he doesn't know what he is in for. I'm going to make a man out of him, a broken man."
Lobov then explained the real victim of the bottle throwing incident on Wednesday was McGregor's girlfriend Dee Devlin.
"Conor's girlfriend Dee got hit with something heavy [a role of duct tape] so that wasn't clever you know," Lobov said. "They made some stupid video of a kid saying they got hit but you could see the kid wearing a represent t-shirt and that she was actually the cousin of Jake Shields or something.
"The truth is a girl did get hit and this is what they've done. It's all good though, they will pay for it."
After all of the back and forths between the SBG Ireland and Stockton 209 Skrap Pack groups this week, Lobov believes the rivalry has been taken to a new level and that now "it's personal."
