Here are three reasons why you'll want to queue up that FloPro account and tune in for Atlas Fights 28.
The main event has huge implications for the two men involved. It bills current lightweight champion and Bellator veteran Matt McCook (10-7) against undefeated top prospect from Alabama, Omar Johnson (5-0). According to Tapology, Johnson is the No. 1 lightweight in his home state.
For Johnson, who recently dropped down from welterweight, a win over a veteran like McCook could place him on the radars of the likes of UFC or Bellator. McCook is coming off of a 1-1 run in Bellator, recently winning his lightweight strap at Atlas Fights 26 with a submission due to strikes over then-champ Will Cruthirds.
As a former featherweight, a win over a young prospect like Johnson would cement McCook as a top 155 pounder in the region.
Oftentimes winning an amateur title signifies a fighter is ready to make the jump to pro. In the card's second championship bout, amateur featherweights Ryan Carroll and Billy Bradshaw will face off.
Carroll, fighting out of Slidell, Louisiana, is undefeated as an amateur (4-0, two via knockout) and is known for being well-rounded.
Bradshaw, meanwhile, comes into this fight after earning his second career victory at Atlas Fights 27. The Tennessee native takes this fight on short notice, as hometown fighter Hollis Sylvester was forced to pull out, but expect him to be prepared and hungry. Can he spoil Carroll's spotless record?
Slidell, Louisiana is a fighting town. The small city is just 30 miles outside of New Orleans and has a population of 27,000. Still, the small town will send four fighters to compete at Atlas Fights 28, all of whom will represent Gold Dragon MMA.
Along with Carroll, Gold Dragon will send Roland Landry, David Jackson, and Rocky Landry to Biloxi.
Roland Landry (2-2) is kicking off the show with his amateur bout vs Tyler Stodghill (2-2) at 145 pounds. His teammate David Jackson (1-0) looks to remain undefeated before turning pro as he faces off against Steve Jackson (2-0).
Rocky Landry (0-2) is the only pro fighter on the card for Gold Dragon. He'll be looking for his first win against Zac Cooper (1-1).
Will Gold Dragon MMA make the trip home with smiles or bruises or their faces? Tune in right here on FloCombat Saturday evening to find out.
