5 Fights Not To Miss In August
5 Fights Not To Miss In August
July was a crazy month in MMA. Can August top it? We take a look at the top-five fights for the upcoming month.
Will we ever have a crazier month in MMA than July 2016? UFC 200, UFC 201, takeovers, drug test failures, title changes and well, just plain madness all round.
You might think that August couldn't possibly top it but if you look at the line up you may think again. Just like on FloCombat, in the world of MMA, 'anything can happen'.
Here are five fights you can look forward to.
Does this one need any more hype? The first fight was all out warfare and that was before the two even stepped inside the Octagon. Little do we remmeber that the first battle between the two only had eleven days build up due to Diaz coming in as a replacement.

The storyline to this one couldn't be simpler - will McGregor get his revenge? Or will Diaz give the Irishman another lesson of what it takes to be 'the real sh*t' inside the Octagon. It's exciting, it's fascinating and it goes down at UFC 202.
It was going to take something special to happen for some attending UFC 202 to be disappointed by a change to the card so it says a lot that there were lots of fans up in arms at Carlos Condit versus Demian Maia being moved to the weekend after in Vanvouver.
This one is a dream match up. It's Condit's intriguing striking against Maia ridculously slick jiu-jitsu in a battle of two veterans still vying for Tyron Woodley's newly won welterweight title. Don't miss it.
Chapter two of Benson Henderson's Bellator adventure is set for August 26th at Bellator 160. Having lost in April against welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov, Henderson makes the move back down to 155lbs in a title fight eliminator against 'Pitbull.

If Henderson is to get his title shot he will have to go through the former champion Patricio Freire who himself still harbours title ambitions. This should be a fantastic lightweight battle with big consequences.
Christian Lee - 18 years old and already with five professional wins to his name inside ONE Championship. Christian is the younger brother of current ONE Championship champion Angela Lee and is fast becoming a real contender in ONE's featherweight division.

Having racked up his fifth win in Bangkok in May, Christian now faces the toughest test of his career when he faces former title contender Martin Nguyen at ONE: Heroes Of The World. Both fighters enjoy the standup battles so expect fireworks in Macau when the two collide.
Unfortunately for Anthony Pettis this in intriguing for all the wrong reasons. Pettis will be making his featherweight debut having lost his last three fights on the bounce to Rafael Dos Anjos, Eddie Alvarez and Edson Barboza.
It feels a little ridiculous to say that the former lightweight champion could be on the verge of the cut but with four losses in a row the man from Wisconsin could well be fighting for his UFC future. In Charles Oliveira he certainly has a dangerous opponent to introduce him to 145lbs.
There are our top five but there are plenty more intriguing fights coming in hot - tell us what you are looking forward to the most @FloCombat
