UFC women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has been hospitalized and is out of the main event at UFC 213.
The most prominent bout on the UFC's annual International Fight Week card has just been cancelled.
FloCombat has confirmed with multiple sources UFC women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has been forced to withdraw from her scheduled title bout against Valentina Shevchenko due to medical issues. News of Nunes' being hospitalized surface on Twitter with posts from TalkMMA and Ariel Helwani, and FloCombat has confirmed with additional sources close to the situation.
ESPN's Brett Okamoto put the final nail in the coffin by reporting the fight to be off per multiple sources on his Twitter account, and FloCombat has confirmed this information as well.

The news comes in hours away from what was slated to be Nunes' second attempt to defend her women's 135-pound crown since winning the strap at UFC 200 one year ago. The bout against Shevchenko was set to be a rematch of their tilt at UFC 196 back in March of 2016, where the 29-year-old Brazilian won a unanimous decision victory on the judges' scorecards.
UPDATE: FloCombat has learned Nunes' medical issue stems from the fighter being unable to put weight back on her body from her weight cut. Nunes successfully made the 135-pound weight limit for the bout on Friday morning, but became ill as she attempted to put put the weight back on per sources close to the fighter.
