Michael Page Hunting Big Names in 2017
Michael Page may have a flawless record of 11 wins with 10 of them coming inside the distance (7 KOs, 3 submissions), but even he has his critics.
In some circles, Page is disparaged for having not faced ‘top level competition’ and some have even gone to extent of labeling him a ‘can crusher’. While the British welterweight isn’t one to take that much notice of any negativity, speaking today in London Shootfighters gym in England, the Bellator MMA star said that 2017 is going to be a big year for him and that he’d be looking to take some big scalps on the Bellator MMA roster in the next twelve months.
“Next year, I want to be known as someone who’s done exactly the same things [spectacular KO finishes] to bigger names,” Page said. “I will probably still get the same complaints.
“I want to go out there because I genuinely believe my style, regardless of the level I fight, I can make them look very small. I just want to start facing those bigger names and crossing them off.
“Next year you are going to be like ‘where will you go to next because the way you are dealing with these fighters is not normal?’ That’s what I want you to be coming back and saying.”
