On Saturday evening, Driller Promotions brought Mecca XI live from Shakopee, Minnesota for an action-packed night of Muay Thai ruckus. 

The night featured a mixture of amateur and professional bouts with different rule sets, with two professional matches headlining the night. 

The amateur portion of the card was capped off with two title fights.

In the main event, Academy’s Thomas Jenkins took on Jacob Rodriguez of Houston Muay Thai, while another Academy standout, Kuchlong Kuchlong, and BJ Van Beusekom of McCune’s went head-to-head to kick off the professional action. 

Tommy Matlon and Ryan Sternberg were the two men to come away with the 215 and 147 Class Titles, respectively, in two hard-fought battles that went to the judges scorecards.

In the final bout of the night, Jenkins and Rodriguez immediately come forward and exchanged heavy kicks to the legs and body. Jenkins was utilizing his elbows early and Rodriguez was busted open at the hairline. Due to the cut, the fight was stopped early in the first round.
