There was a middleweight title on the line and Long Island bragging rights in the main event of Triton Fights 3 between Vincent Deriso and Jeremy Puglia.
While Deriso failed to make the scheduled weight limit, and the strap was only an option for Puglia, both men came out looking to scrap at The Space at Westbury. Puglia landed the bigger shots in the opening round, but Deriso started the second frame by taking the action to the canvas in an effort to turn the tides.
That said, Puglia got back to his feet, put a few hammers down and took the action back to the ground. Puglia initially set into a standing armbar, then transitioned to the ground for a traditional form of the submission to get the tap.
