Wrong. Friday night, Valor Fighting Challenge 57 kicks off a huge weekend of top-notch regional MMA action here on FloCombat.

Kicking off at 6 PM ET, all eyes in Knoxville, Tennessee's Cotton Eyed Joe will be on the Valor Fights cage—and rightfully so.

The card features some of the region’s best up-and-comers, at both the professional and amateur designations.

In the main event, two female badasses throw down at a catchweight of 139 pounds. It’ll be Kentucky vs. Tennessee, as Gina “Jellybean” Elliott battles Shamir “Hella Kitty” Peshewa.

A veteran of Invicta FC, Elliott has faced a handful of notable names in her eight-year MMA career, including Sijara Eubanks, Katlyn Chookagian, and Vanessa Demopoulos.

Her opponent, the undefeated Shamir Peshewa will look to defend her home turf by halting Elliott in her tracks. After an up-and-down tenure on the amatuer scene, Peshewa made a statement in her professional debut, defeating then-undefeated Natalie King by unanimous decision.

Before these two ladies swing for the fences inside the cage, the 175-pound catchweight title is on the line as six-fight veteran Jason Wolf battles Cleveland, Tennessee’s David Robins.

Looking to rebound from a loss to Jason King at Valor Fights 54, Striker Fight Center’s Wolf enters the bout having won three out of his last five bouts.

Conversely, his opponent, David Robins, is riding a two-fight win streak entering Friday’s action. The two recent victories are the only fights of Robins’s career thus far, and come on the heels of an impressive 7-1 amateur stint from 2012-2017.

The prelude to the evening’s headlining bouts is worth the price of admission alone.
