Just 19 years of age, Ribeiro is constantly evolving as a martial artist but has been a lifelong athlete. Growing up in the “Bigfoot” Silva household meant jiu-jitsu was introduced at an early age.
Admiring her father’s work throughout his career, Riberio decided to officially focus on becoming an MMA fighter two years ago. Originally caught off guard by his daughter’s wish to pursue MMA stardom, “Bigfoot” says her sought-after career makes perfect sense.
“She always accompanied MMA, she already attended my fight in England, was a child and was there screaming with her mother,” Bigfoot told Combate in an interview last month. “It's in her blood. I usually say that she is me in [a] skirt (laughs), only that much improved”
While she certainly idolizes her father and the accomplishments he achieved, Ribeiro is looking to pave her own way in the sport.
“My dream in MMA, of course, is to reach the UFC and win the title,” Ribeiro told Combate. “Be recognized as one of the best. I want to leave a very nice legacy for my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. I want recognition even to be one of the best fighters of all time. This is the biggest dream I have.”
