We know you're accustomed to some knees, elbows, punches, and kicks here on FloCombat, but KASAI Pro 3 is worth every bit of your attention. Grappling simply doesn't get much better than this, and as an MMA fan, having Burns, Palhares, Marcin Held, and Vagner Rocha on the card is a nice touch.
Let's break it down.
Craig Jones vs. Rousimar Palhares
You probably remember Palhares' runs in the UFC and WSOF, and you probably remember how he would grab a leg and twist until the ref said "stop." Sometimes, he wouldn't even listen. Fun times.
Here's the thing: His devastating submission arsenal has only gotten better. Palhares' leg lock game and his brute strength is out of control. You've seen his latest picture, right?

So, yeah. That's not a guy you want torquing your leg.
Craig Jones, however, is an animal.
The Australian grappling sensation set the grappling world on fire when he submitted Leandro Lo en route to the 2017 ADCC finals, and he hasn't slowed down since.

Like Palhares, Jones is a master of leg locks, and while he'll have height and length on his opponent, he'll likely need to stay tight, technical, and precise against the stockier, stronger Palhares.
Interestingly enough, most fans think Jones will take this one, but as we know from watching him inside the cage, Palhares can turn the tables in a flash.

Gilbert Burns vs. AJ Agazarm
Does USADA detect robotic implants? Because Gilbert Burns is clearly a terminator.
The UFC lightweight competed July 7 at UFC 226 and got right back to work the following weekend, winning July 14 at Polaris 7.
That wasn't enough, apparently, so Burns filled up his Saturday plans again with a win July 21 at Fight 2 Win 81, and now he will face AJ Agazarm Saturday at KASAI Pro 3.
And Agazarm is no pushover.
The trash-talking black belt is no stranger to the spotlight, and he's never backed down from a challenge. If you throw fire at Agazarm, he's going to return it and then some, making him one of the most polarizing figures in BJJ today. Taking on Burns, there's no doubt going to be plenty of bad blood and intensity, making this a can't-miss matchup at KASAI Pro 3.
Welterweight Tournament
For hardcore grappling fans, the KASAI Pro 3 eight-man grand prix highlights the evening. Featuring Marcin Held, Vagner Rocha, and a star-studded cast of competitors, this tournament will crown the inaugural KASAI welterweight king.
In a round-robin format, competitors will square off until only one is left standing. The field will be divided into two groups, and after four rounds, the top athletes from each group will face off for gold.
The field will consist of:
- Renato Canuto (KASAI lightweight champion)
- Vagner Rocha
- Victor Silverio
- Marcin Held
- Masahiro Iwasaki
- Jason Rau
- PJ Barch
- Matheus Lutes (KASAI qualifier winner)
Who will take home gold, and who will emerge victorious in the night's super fights?
Find out live with us at KASAI Pro 3. The action begins at 6 PM ET.
