In the night's main event, former Upper Midwest Golden Gloves champion Jesse Wannemacher steps into the spotlight to face undefeated Wisconsin-based prospect Montel Jackson in a three-round featured bout.

During an interview with Minnesota Fight News, Wannemacher discussed the bout. 

I’ve got this horrible curse of opponents pulling out a week or two before my fights lately and have had a couple injuries that I’ve been healing up. Right on cue last Friday, I got the message that my opponent Ode Osbourne pulled out with a staph infection. Luckily, they were able to find a super tough opponent for me on short notice. Montel is a really solid opponent from what I’ve seen -- really good Muay Thai and a good wrestler, so it should be a battle. I’m expecting a war. 

Facing a skilled opponent like Wannemacher is already a tough task, but Jackson will face two opponents Saturday evening in Minnesota: Wannemacher and his hometown crowd. 

Despite the considerable crowd support expected Saturday for his opponent, Jackson is ready to handle business. Specifically, he's ready to stand in the middle of the cage and throw hands against a willing foe.  

I took this Jesse Wannemacher fight over the weekend, but I’ve known about him for a while. My coaches told me about him last year because he’d had another fight fall through and I was going to step up, but it didn’t get done for one reason or another. I know he’s a good standup guy, and that’s really what I’ve been looking for. All of my pro opponents to date have tried to take our fights to the ground. This guy isn’t really like that. I’m confident Jesse and I will put on an entertaining striking fight. 

And for anybody craving a rock 'em, sock 'em affair, Jackson is more than happy to accommodate. 

"That violence that people crave when they watch MMA -- that's me," Jackson continued in his interview with Minnesota Fight News.

Before Jackson and Wannemacher throw down, the Driller Promotions amateur middleweight title is up for grabs in a can't-miss battle of undefeated prospects. 

Former University of Minnesota wrestler Joel Bauman (4-0) comes into his scrap against North Dakota's Manatua Lemaire (4-0) fresh off winning the Caged Aggression middleweight title. Now, he looks to add another belt to his collection, but he'll need to get through an equally experienced and successful opponent should to accomplish that feat. 

Can he pull off the victory and move his record to 5-0 while snagging a second title for his efforts? There's only one way to find out.
