Manny Bermudez Signs UFC Contract, Will Face Albert Morales In Orlando
Undefeated super prospect Manny Bermudez has signed with the UFC. Full details, including his debut date and opponent, here.
Manny Bermudez, the No. 1 bantamweight prospect on FloCombat's North American rankings, has signed with the UFC.
The UFC revealed Monday that Bermudez (11-0) will make his debut Feb. 24 against Albert Morales (7-3-1) at UFC on Fox 28 in Orlando, Florida. The card is headlined by a featherweight showdown between Jeremy Stephens and Josh Emmett.
At 22 years old, Bermudez's run to kick off his professional career has been nothing short of sensational.
In his 11 straight wins, Bermudez has notched nine first-round finishes, including three straight under the Cage Titans banner.
Most recently, Bermudez tapped out Seth Basler in just 66 seconds in the main event of Cage Titans 37 on Jan. 27. Prior to that, he defeated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Bendy Casimir via technical submission (triangle choke) in 72 seconds at Cage Titans 35.
Now, Bermudez will put his skills to the test against Morales in Orlando.
While Morales' record does not stack up to Bermudez's on paper, the 26-year-old fighter will have a significant experience advantage come fight night.
The "Octagon jitters" oftentimes plague newcomers to the UFC's historic cage, but Morales has been there, done that, going 1-3-1 in his five UFC appearances since September 2016.
In his last outing, Morales dropped a unanimous decision to Benito Lopez at UFC Fight Night 123 on Dec. 9 in Fresno, California.
