Tony Ferguson Responds To Khabib Nurmagomedov's Win At UFC 219
UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson responds to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Khabib Nurmagomedov returned to action at UFC 219 and put on one of the most dominant and impressive performances of his career. Tony Ferguson wasn't moved in the slightest.
The Dagestan-born contender hunted down and dismantled renowned striker Edson Barboza en route to picking up one of the most lopsided victories in the history of the UFC's lightweight fold. Nurmagomedov was simply on a different level, and his showing at UFC 219 left zero doubt as to the validity of his claim for title contention. "The Eagle" said as much in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan as Nurmagomedov made it clear "El Cucuy", not Conor McGregor, will be his next point of focus.
Granted, Nurmagomedov said he could dispatch both within the same night, but the larger point of the matter was his intention to fight Ferguson next.
Immediately following the bout the interim lightweight champion took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter.
Don't Care If The @ufc Approves, I'll Cut @TheNotoriousMMA ... Drop @TeamKhabib & Move Up To Welterweight Either B4 Or After I'm Done w/ This Division & Rid It Of The Trash At The Top. Pollution Has Accumilated Over The Years, Time To Clean House #DefendOrVacate???-TheeChamp https://t.co/l6XkH50ZQY
