Title Tilts Top The Lineup At Ascendancy 15
There will be two title belts on the line at Ascendancy 15 on FloCombat.
Iowa is known for building some of the best wrestlers in the world, and on Friday night the "Hawkeye State” is set to showcase some of the best mixed martial arts talent the Midwest has to offer at Ascendancy 15.
The event's stacked lineup streams live and exclusively on FloCombat from Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, Iowa, kicking off at 7:30 PM ET.
Two title fights line the 18-bout card that is set to feature a collection of proven talent and hungry up-and-comers eager to break through to bigger stages.
Let’s take a look at the championship tilts that are sure to keep the action rolling strong at Ascendancy 15.
The first championship bout of the evening will go down in the amateur featherweight ranks as upstart Kevin Revelle squares off with Spencer Wray.
While Revelle jumped out to a hot start by notching victories in his first two showings inside the cage, a setback in his most recent outing will have the 25-year-old featherweight eager to get back into the winner’s circle. Furthermore, Revelle will have a chance to pick up more than just a notch in the win column if he can defeat Wray and pick up the Ascendancy belt.
Wray, on the other hand, has much different plans.
The more experienced fighter has nearly three times the amount of showings as his opponent, and he will roll into Ascendancy 15 with a touch of momentum at his back. Wray earned a submission victory in his most recent showing back in July, which served to snap a rough spell that saw him drop back-to-back affairs inside the cage.
Wray will enter the cage on Friday night looking to stack his first back-to-back wins since early 2016 — and earn a bit of championship gold in the process.
The second title tilt on the lineup will come in the bantamweight division as 40-plus fight veteran Nate Williams will step in against Minnesota native Jason Huntley.
The hometown talent wants nothing more than to defend his native ground on Friday night, but Williams will need to find his groove inside the cage. “The Teddy Bear” has dropped two straight fights under the bright lights and will need to bring his A-game to turn back a hard-charging Huntley, who is making the drive south on a mission for gold.
Huntley recently broke a two-fight skid back in July when he picked up a first-round submission victory under the Mecca banner.
