Former Sengoku and Bellator fighter Marlon Sandro is being accused of domestic violence.
In disturbing photos circulating on social media, Sandro’s fiancée, Tayssa Madeira, can be seen with a bandaged arm, a black eye, and multiple bruises.
The two were recently engaged on Nov. 12, according to their social media accounts.
Combate.com reported the news and reached out to Nova União founder André Pederneiras, with whom Sandro had trained, for comment. Pederneiras said that the mixed martial artist is no longer with the team.

Madeira’s Instagram account has since been set to private.
The alleged assault happened in the Catete neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro early Thursday morning as Sandro and Madeira returned home from a game between Brazilian soccer clubs Flamengo and Independiente. That’s when the argument escalated.
Sandro reportedly attacked Madeira with kicks and punches, and when she was finally able to escape, she unsuccessfully filed a complaint with police. Her friends started a social media campaign for justice.
In a social media post of his own, Sandro wrote, “Everyone makes mistakes and every day I learn with them."
The post has since been deleted, along with Sandro’s account.
The 40-year-old Sandro has compiled a professional record of 26-7-2. He most recently competed for the ROAD FC featherweight championship in March 2016 but was defeated by Mu Gyeom Choi.
He previously held titles in King of Pancrase and Sengoku.
