A Pair Of Title Tilts Highlight Triton Fights 5
Two belts will be on the line at Triton Fights 5 this Saturday night on FloCombat.
The best amateur action to be found in New York returns to FloCombat this Saturday night as Triton Fights 5 hits The Space in Long Island. The card features two title fights and streams live and exclusively on FloCombat starting at 7 PM EDT.
Triton shows always bring the proverbial heat, and the fifth installment of the series will keep that reputation firmly intact.
Let’s take a look at the reasons you won’t want to miss Triton Fights 5.
A Barn Burner For Middleweight Gold
You can’t mention Triton without thinking about middleweight champion Jeremy Puglia.
The 185-pound beast has been on a tear since he first stepped into the cage, winning all but one of his six showings as an amateur. Puglia has won three straight contests coming into Saturday night, with his two most recent victories coming under the Triton banner. Of the three fights on his current winning streak, all but one has come by way of finish, and Puglia has shown his versatility in the process.
Puglia can put you away on the feet or on the canvas, but he’ll have his hands full with Noel Irizarry on Saturday night.
The Pennsylvania native is coming into hostile territory and attempting to knock off one of the big dogs on his opponent’s home turf. That’s serious business, but Irizarry has proven capable of big things in his three showings inside the cage.
Although Irizarry dropped his debut showing by decision back in June, the upstart middleweight has notched back-to-back wins since and will hit the Triton cage with a full head of steam. Much like his opponent, Irizarry has also shown versatility inside the cage and will bring the fight right to Puglia once the action goes live in the main event.
Sprinkle some championship gold at the finish line, and this fight will be worth the price of admission.
More Championship Action
While the promotion may still be in the early stages, Ryan Castro has put in work since Triton launched into the world of amateur mixed martial arts.
The New York native put on a smashing performance at Triton Fights 4 back in September, but that is just one win on his current four-fight streak. Castro appears to have worked out the kinks from an earlier rough patch in his career and has been in full-fledged beast mode ever since. That’s a good thing because his opponent Tim Ring is also in similar form.
Ring has won all but one of his five showings as an amateur and is currently riding some consecutive victories coming into Saturday night. Ring has notched back-to-back successful performances inside the cage, and both of those wins have come via finish to boot.
Fireworks are going to fly when Castro and Ring collide in the co-main event, and there’s a good chance the action will not make the distance.
