Ronda Rousey has not fought since a first-round knockout loss to women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in December 2016.
Rousey (12-2) lasted just 48 seconds before referee Herb Dean was forced to stop the fight.
It was the second straight loss of Rousey's career, following a November 2015 knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.
Rousey has been enjoying life outside of the cage since her last appearance, but she has yet to shut down any talk of a potential return to the Octagon. However, UFC President Dana White is hoping Rousey doesn’t try to make a comeback.
“I wouldn’t want to see it,” White told the media at a lunch event on Tuesday, via MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi. “I wouldn’t want it to happen. I care about her. She’s got enough money. She’s got enough money and all that stuff. I don’t want to see it happen. It’s like Chuck Liddell. I was hearing that Chuck was talking about fighting again. I hope that’s not true.”
But while White is not interested in seeing “Rowdy” return to the UFC, he acknowledged the former women’s bantamweight champion has not officially retired.
“She has not retired,” White said. “USADA is still popping up at her house and testing her. She refuses to retire.”
There is no indication whether Rousey will make a formal announcement or return, but there have been reports of possible discussions with WWE.
Rousey has also been filming the movie "Mile 22," while enjoying the newlywed life with husband and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne.
Ultimately, the door will be open for Rousey to return if she ever chooses to do so. Just don’t expect White to go out of his way to convince Rousey to step back in the cage.
