UFC Lightweight Rips Ex-UFC Matchmaker: 'I’ll Slap That Napoleon Fu*k'
UFC Lightweight Rips Ex-UFC Matchmaker: 'I’ll Slap That Napoleon Fu*k'
Lightweight fighter Chris Wade is unhappy with his current -- and past -- state of affairs with the UFC, and he's not shy about letting them know.
UFC lightweight Chris Wade is pissed.
That much is perfectly clear after his Twitter tirade late Monday evening. Despite being well qualified, coming off a win, and boasting an impressive 5-2 record inside the Octagon, Wade (12-3 overall) apparently can't get a scrap, and that's causing him some problems.
explain to me how some of these slap lightweights continue to get fights and chances without winning. How does this sport exactly work bc I️m honestly confused. Haven’t come across one person who could even make me bleed yet in a pro fight but somehow unworthy 5-2-> @ufc

Explain to me how I️ have more wins, more finishes, more first round finishes, less losses (dec. to Russians who are undefeated since) than people who keep getting work. Take short notice, always make weight. WWWWW-LL UFC< @seanshelby @danawhite pic.twitter.com/oFNRtJXohR

I️m fucking tired of it always made weight, took short notice fights, went to everything they asked of me for any appearance, .715 win percentage, just under 50 percent first round finishes of my UFC wins. Never even been dropped and I️m not good enough!? @ufc @seanshelby

After that three-piece combo, Wade dropped a baseball analogy to appeal to a wider audience and to establish some perspective.
That’s why this shit isn’t a sport: Analogy: Ah you know what we’re going to put the Yankees in the World Series even though they lost because they have a larger market and good social media, it will make more money. But sir the Astros won. “Who the fook are those guys”

He then turned back to the current quality of the 155-pound class, highlighting a specific example to further emphasize his point.
Just looked at an upcoming card not gonna blow the guy up but 3-2 UFC record 3 decision wins LoL. No win streaks. Booked to brawl! There is no consistency to any of this shit I️ would mop majority of the roster. #ufc

Wade saved his angriest outburst for last, zeroing in on former UFC matchmaker Joe Silva.
Speaking on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Monday, former UFC heavyweight and current Bellator contender Matt Mitrione dropped a bomb on Silva, claiming the promotion's matchmaker once intentionally deceived him so he would take a fight with Roy Nelson.
According to Mitrione, he was told by Silva that his December 2012 fight with Nelson would be contested in the large, full-size UFC Octagon, which is 30 feet in diameter. In reality, the promotion used a smaller, 25-foot diameter cage, something Mitrione has openly expressed his dislike for in the past.
Silva, however, denied those allegations, telling MMAFighting.com he had no reason to lie.
“It’s not impossible they made a mistake shipping the wrong Octagon,” Silva said. “It’s not impossible they could have given me the wrong information. I don’t even remember this incident in the first place — there was so much going on. But in a situation like that, I would get that information from the people who know and pass it on.”
Wade, however, clearly sides with Mitrione on this one.
After losing to Rustam Khabilov in May 2016, Wade said he initially declined a proposal by Silva to fight Islam Makhachev that September because Makhachev was coming off a provisional suspension by USADA for testing positive for meldonium. Wade said he only accepted the bout — which he ultimately lost via unanimous decision — when Silva threatened to cut him from the UFC roster.
Mitrione with Silva lying. I was 4-0 lost my first fight to Khabilov almost scored knockout didn’t happen. I tried to turn down a fight with someone coming off PED suspension appeal he says he’ll cut me that I’m in no pos to turn down a fight. I’ll slap that Napoleon fuck

Wade most recently defeated Frankie Perez via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 25 in July.
