Former middleweight champion Michael Bisping and Kelvin Gastelum went head-to-head in the main event of UFC Fight Night 122 at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on Saturday morning.
The bout didn’t last long, with Gastelum needing just 150 seconds to dispose of the former titleholder, who accepted the bout on just three weeks notice after being choked out by Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217 to lose his title.

Following a well-timed 1-2 counter, Gastelum knocked out Bisping with a thunderous left hand that landed right on the button.
The emphatic finish drew an incredible reaction from the mixed martial arts community on social media.
From those who were praising Gastelum for the highlight-reel finish to those who were questioning whether Bisping should have been in the cage to begin with, the mixed views were a great way to wrap up what was an entertaining night full of early and spectacular finishes.
Here is how the MMA world reacted on Twitter.

It was irresponsible to book Bisping 21 days after being choked out cold. Hope he got a HUGE envelope for this.

Gastelum is a phenomenal talent. Still think he’s at his best at 170 but he continues to hang with (and beat) some of the top dogs at 185. Makes Weidman’s (somewhat forgotten, it seems) win over him in July look better, too.
