If retired boxer Paulie Malignaggi is currently negotiating for a boxing match against Conor McGregor, UFC President Dana White has a bridge to sell you.

Just recently, Malignaggi said his manager Al Haymon had reached out to the UFC and had a conversation with White about potentially putting together a boxing match between the former sparring partners.

Malignaggi engaged in two separate training sessions with McGregor ahead of his fight with Floyd Mayweather in August. Malignaggi then bolted from camp after photos were released that didn't paint him in the most flattering light.

For the past two months, Malignaggi has continued to obsess over McGregor through social media, constantly talking about the Irish superstar and potential boxing match between the two in the future.

Well, White says Malignaggi might want to forget about that idea because McGregor is returning to his mixed martial arts career, and that's probably better for the retired boxing champ considering how he got dealt with during those two previous sparring sessions.

White discussed the situation during a recent visit to the "Real Quick With Mike Swick" Podcast.

"Do you think people really want to see Conor versus Paulie Malignaggi?" White said. "People want to see Conor fight in MMA. That's what they want to see. Listen, the Mayweather thing was a one-off f*cking crazy deal, but this is where he belongs. This is the sport he is in. This is the sport he excels in and he's the world champion. This is where he needs to be.

"Let me ask you a question. Why did Paulie Malignaggi get up and walk out of camp after two sparring sessions? Because it was the right f*cking thing to do. Because he was going to get hurt. Because he was gonna take damage that would affect him for the rest of his life that he didn't need to f*cking take.

"It's not like they were paying him big money or he had a f*cking fight coming up himself. Paulie Malignaggi got up and left camp, and he f*cking should have got up and left camp because Conor was going to f*cking hurt him badly."

Part of Malignaggi's anger towards McGregor and the UFC stems from two video clips that were released from the second sparring session, which saw Malignaggi eat a huge punch from the UFC lightweight champion as well as a flash knockdown during one exchange.

Since then, Malignaggi has begged for the full footage to be released because he feels it would exonerate his performance against McGregor.

White says he sat and watched the sparring session and maintains that nothing was going right for Malignaggi that night as McGregor thrashed him from beginning to end.

"It's no disrespect to the guy. It's a f*cking fact," White said. "I was there. I watched the f*cking whole sparring session. That guy needed to go home and he needed to leave Las Vegas and not go through another of those sparring sessions."
