Marc Diakiese is looking to rebound in the Octagon before 2017 comes to a close.

UFC officials announced Monday that New Zealand's Dan Hooker will face the English prospect Diakiese at UFC 219 on Dec. 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Diakiese (12-1) last saw action in July when he suffered the first loss of his career to Drakkar Klose at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. Despite being favored heading into the matchup, the American Top Team product lost a split decision to The MMA Lab standout, which snapped Diakiese's 12-fight win streak. The 24-year-old has gone 3-1 in the UFC overall, with wins over Łukasz Sajewski, Frankie Perez, and Teemu Packalén. 

The 27-year-old Hooker (14-7) hasn't competed since his TKO victory over Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 110 in June. "The Hangman" has alternated between wins and losses since he signed with the UFC in 2014.
